Advice for Passport Renewals

If you’re renewing a passport or applying for a visa by mail, the State Department suggests using a padded envelope because regular envelops can tear when they’re being processed at the Post Office. A spokeswoman also said travelers should include a current return address inside a passport so that if the document becomes separated from the envelope, it can still be returned.
