NEWPORT BEACH : Public Forum to Focus on County’s Economy
- Share via
Bruce W. Sumner, chairman of the Orange County Charter Commission, will speak about the county’s economic outlook at a community forum Sept. 13.
The 33-member Charter Commission was formed by the Board of Supervisors in March to study the merits and disadvantages of becoming a charter county--one governed by voter-approved statutes.
Sumner, who was appointed shortly after the commission formed, is a former Superior Court judge, chairman of the California Constitution Revision Commission and served six years in the California Legislature.
Sumner’s talk, sponsored by the nonprofit community group Speak Up Newport Beach, will be at Villa Nova Restaurant, 3131 W. Coast Highway.
