Ventura County Weekend : SATURDAY

SAX MAN
Saxophonist Bruce Eskovitz, the special guest at 66 California, has--like many a gifted musician in Los Angeles--worked a variety of gigs, including accompanying Natalie Cole and the Fifth Dimension.
Of late, though, Eskovitz has been making a formidable jazz statement of his own, releasing “One for Newk,” a tribute to Sonny Rollins, on the Koch label. As heard at the Santa Barbara Jazz Festival last weekend, Eskovitz is a saxophonist to reckon with. The multi-instrumentalist will join the Johnny Veith Trio from 9 p.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cover charge is $3. The restaurant is located at 66 California St., Ventura. For more information, call 648-2266.

FREE ELVIS
With gyrating hips, a sparkling costume and a capable band, veteran Elvis impersonator Raymond Michael Hebel will grace the stage at Constitution Park for the final installment of the Camarillo Arts Council’s free summer concert series.
Hebel’s “Elvis the Legend” act--which he has performed in Las Vegas, on television and in countless other venues--is replete with some of the King’s biggest hits.
The event will begin at 7 p.m. with a children’s performance by Just For Youth, followed by the Elvis, er, Hebel and company at 7:30 p.m. The park is at Paseo Camarillo and Carmen Drive. For more information, call 987-7847.
