Parochial Schools

Three letter writers (Sept. 15) condemn the Catholic Church for not paying real estate taxes on churches and schools. It does pay them on other real estate the church owns. Their remarks would have merit if there was no offsetting balance. The money saved by the state from the church schools (all churches and temples) educating children far exceeds any real estate taxes that could be raised.
Let’s have a little equity.
