Watson General Corp.: The Irvine software developer for underground tank monitoring said that it plans to acquire EnvironQuest Technologies Ltd. of Kansas City, Mo., a move that should nearly double Watson General’s revenue. EnvironQuest’s software analyzes data received from underground tanks in service stations, while Watson General provides remote monitoring to detect leaks. John Marencik, president and chief executive of EnvironQuest, will become a Watson board member. The companies would not disclose terms of the acquisition, which is expected to close in about 60 days. Watson General reported a loss of $921,000 on revenue of $2.1 million in the nine months ended June 30.
