Parents at Fault?
* The first newspaper account of the tragic desert crash on July 29 in which three teen-agers were killed included a remark from one of the parents that they knew that the kids drank on these excursions but that one kid always stayed sober.
Doesn’t this suggest that there was some parental responsibility, or rather irresponsibility, which was a factor in this accident? I do not disagree with going after a liquor store that sold alcoholic beverages to kids (“Desert Crash Probe Targets Anaheim Store,” Sept. 19).
But if what the paper was reported was true, then there are some parents who need to be held accountable.
