Bernard Adler, 75, director Steven Spielberg’s stepfather. A native of Quincy, Mass., Adler was married to Spielberg’s mother, Leah Adler, for 28 years. She and Adler operated the Milky Way kosher dairy restaurant in Los Angeles, where their tongue-in-cheek humor was evident in the varieties of pizza they offered: “pizza de lox” and “mo hotta mo betta,” a combination of barbecue sauce and assorted smoked fish.
