Comparator Systems Corp.: The Newport Beach-based maker of fingerprint identification systems said it has acquired International Financial Systems Inc., an Irvine-based company that sells operating systems for the banking industry. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Comparator Systems, which has spent eight years developing a fingerprint-matching sensor to verify the identities of credit or ATM cardholders, said International Financial will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary.
The acquisition “opens the door for us to meet the growing security needs of the world banking and credit card industry,” said Robert Rogers, chairman of Comparator Systems.
International Financial, a privately held company, has had cumulative sales of $4.25 million over the past four years, a company spokesman said.
