Comprehensive Care Corp.: The Newport Beach company, which provides health-care management services, said Monday it has received a $9.4-million refund from the Internal Revenue Service on its fiscal 1995 federal tax return. The company then repaid about $2.5 million to the IRS to clear an outstanding tax liability. The company previously negotiated a settlement of $5.7 million on a $52-million liability with the IRS, and had paid more than $3 million. The company has filed amended returns seeking an additional $13.2 million in tax refunds, but the IRS may contest the claims, Comprehensive Care said.
