Man Arrested for Cruelty to Pit Bulls

A 28-year-old Oxnard man was arrested Monday night after neighbors called police to complain about howling, screeching dogs.
When Oxnard police arrived at the home in the 500 block of Palm Drive, they found four pit bulls, one of which was bloodied, and training equipment for dog fighting, said Oxnard Police Cmdr. Bob Elder.

Wrong name--An Oxnard man accused of cruelty to animals was incorrectly identified in a story Tuesday. The suspect’s name is Raul Santana, also known as Raul Gonzalez.
Raul Gonzalez was arrested for cruelty to animals, Elder said, and the dogs were taken to an animal shelter.
