COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : UCLA : Edwards Will Test Back in Contact Drills Today

Middle linebacker Donnie Edwards, who hasn’t played since Sept. 16 because of an upper back injury and a one-game NCAA suspension, will test his back in contact drills today.
“Before I put him in a game, I’ve got to see him get some practice hitting and not be so sore,” Coach Terry Donahue said. “I’ve got to get a feeling of confidence from him, which I don’t have right now. I think he’s leery and I don’t think you should put a player out there that feels like that.”
