What: Considering a proposal to purchase $35,000 in security equipment for the clerk-recorder’s office, which has been burglarized three times in the past five months. Officials want to get security cameras that would monitor all entrances to the office.

Charter Commission meeting
What: Continuing to discuss proposed revisions to the County Charter. Among the changes being considered by the commission, which was formed in the wake of the county’s December bankruptcy filing, are limiting supervisors to two terms and making some top county jobs, such as treasurer-tax collector, appointed posts rather than elected ones.

Anaheim
Planning Commission meeting
What: Conducting a public hearing on a request to build an outdoor roller hockey rink in conjunction with an existing indoor swap meet at 1440 S. Anaheim Blvd. The commission will also consider a 41-lot residential development planned for a 7.1-acre site at Oak Canyon Drive and Running Springs Road.

City Council meeting
What: Conducting special meeting on possible censure of Councilman Eddie Rose for sending on city stationery a letter that some officials and residents say contains racially biased statements. City officials say that any censure of Rose would likely be limited to public condemnation of the letter.

Mission Viejo
City Council meeting
What: Considering the Kaleidoscope project, a 200,000-square-foot entertainment mall planned for a vacant lot at Crown Valley Parkway and Interstate 5. The City Council, acting in its role as the Community Development Commission, will first have a closed meeting, then open the session before it votes on the project, owned by Pacific Development Partners of Beverly Hills.
