Santa Monica’s hopes for a share of the Bay League football title were dashed by Peninsula, 35-6, but the Vikings still earned a playoff berth, their first since 1991. They will play Saugas at Canyon Country Canyon High on Friday in the opening round of the Division III playoffs. . . . Andre Farkas had 215 all-purpose yards for Beverly Hills in a 21-20 victory over Culver City. Noe Jaramillo led Culver City with 210 yards in 30 carries. Beverly Hills is seeded third in Division III and plays host to South Hills. . . . University beat Palisades, 15-12, and will face Washington on Friday in the first round of Division III. A 10-yard scoring run by Rashaad Johnson with 2:10 to play was the difference. . . . Jerome Heavens, playing his last game for St. Bernard, gained 205 rushing yards in a 22-15 loss to St. Francis. He finished his senior season with 1,343 yards rushing. . . . Venice qualified for the Division III playoffs, winning, 13-8, over Fairfax. Fullback Eduardo Gonzalez scored on the first play from scrimmage on a 60-yard run. The Gondoliers finished tied with Hamilton for second place in the Coastal Conference and play at Monroe on Friday.
