Countywide : D.A. Computer Service Contract Approved
- Share via
The Board of Supervisors has approved a $34,000 contract with IBM Corp. to help maintain computer hardware used by the district attorney’s office.
The IBM 9370 computer system is used to generate criminal complaints and subpoena forms as well as for case tracking and management reports.
County officials said it is crucial to keep computer downtime to a minimum so that the district attorney’s office can meet court deadlines.
The IBM system is not compatible with another computer network used by the county’s data center.
Supervisors said they hope to eventually make more of the county’s computer systems compatible, for such a move would likely save money.
