Transferring from Bell Gardens to Roosevelt for her senior year was a difficult decision for Lisa Valenzuela. But it appears to have paid off. The 5-foot-9 volleyball standout had 23 kills in her team’s upset of top-seeded Chatsworth in the City Section Division 4-A final last Friday. Valenzuela, who maintains a B average, begins basketball season Monday and will play softball in the spring.
