Furon Posts Third-Quarter Gains

LAGUNA NIGUEL — Furon Co. on Tuesday reported higher earnings and sales for the fiscal third quarter and nine months ended Oct. 28.
The Laguna Niguel maker of engineered polymer components for the industrial market said net income for the third quarter rose 12% to $3.8 million, or 42 cents a share, from $3.4 million, or 37 cents, for the same period a year earlier. Sales increased 5% to $85 million from $81 million.
For the nine-month period, net income rose 18% to $9.9 million, or $1.09 a share, from $8.4 million, or 94 cents a share, a year ago. Sales increased 11% to $256.2 million from $231.2 million.
