Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will take children for a ride on a vintage train through the heart of the Santa Clara Valley for three consecutive weekends in December.
Short Line Enterprises Inc. in Fillmore will be offering the rides beginning Dec. 2. The two-hour trip through citrus groves includes a 45-minute layover at the Santa Paula Christmas Tree Farm.
Trees purchased by passengers will be transported back to Fillmore on the train’s flat car. Food and beverages will be sold on the train, and there will be caroling.
The train will depart downtown Fillmore at 10 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 3 p.m. each day. The regular fare is $14 for adults and $8 for children ages 4 to 12.
First-class service is also available aboard a historic Santa Fe business car built in 1929. Reservations are required for first-class fare, which costs $24 for adults and $16 for children. For information, call 524-2546.
