ANAHEIM — Furniture retailer Homestead House has received approval to establish a 260,000-square-foot store, one of the largest in the region, in an industrial area near Anaheim Stadium.
Homestead House, based in Colorado, owns a warehouse building on the site, which is likely to be converted into a retail outlet. Anaheim’s Planning Commission says Homestead’s plans include a 240,000-square-foot warehouse next to the store as well as a 150-foot-high clock tower. The company has until August 1997 to begin construction.
Homestead House currently operates three stores in Orange County, among others in Southern California. Company officials did not return telephone calls this week. City officials said they did not know when Homestead would begin construction or how much the company plans to spend.
