The Sniping Continues in the Trojan-Bruin War

Let me get this straight. UCLA defeats Southern Cal five years in a row in football, the men’s basketball team wins the city’s only major sports championship since 1988, and we still see ridiculous statements that Los Angeles is, was and always will be a Trojan town.
Sorry, Southern Cal fans, Los Angeles has been a Bruin town since 1919.

Although the caption for the picture in the [Jan. 5] sports section of new UCLA football Coach Bob Toledo describes Athletic Director Peter Dalis and Chancellor Charles Young as “listen(ing),” it appears to me they are (already) talking behind his back.

I really think it’s time to change Allan Malamud’s column name from “Notes on a Scorecard” to “Trojan Beat!”
Does Mr. Malamud receive his salary from the University of Southern California?
