Four suspected gang members wounded in a shootout at a Pomona swap meet were listed in stable condition Sunday, police said.
The shooting began at 11:54 a.m. Saturday at the indoor swap meet at 1600 E. Holt Ave., said Pomona Police Lt. Leon Sakamoto.
Two off-duty Los Angeles police officers working as security guards intervened after one man shot Ernesto Salas, 23, of Ontario, and a security guard fired at the gunman, police said.
A second armed man confronted another security guard and was shot by the guard, Sakamoto said.
Salas and three others listed by police as suspects--Jorge Martinez, 19, Jorge Alarcon, 20, and Aristeo Espinoza, 21--were treated for gunshot wounds at local hospitals, Sakamoto said. None of the injuries was life-threatening, he said. The guards were not hurt.
The shooting stemmed from an argument among the men, who were customers at the swap meet, police said.
