Schools / Education news : South Lake Creates World Wide Web Site

South Lake Middle School has became the first in Irvine Unified School District to have a site on the World Wide Web, Principal Judy Cunningham said.
“It allows students to network with other students and allows us as a school to know what’s going on with other schools,” Cunningham said.
South Lake’s web site, supported by Chapman University, can be accessed through the Internet. It was created by library media teacher Laura Bokesch and science teacher Kelly Diener.
Homework assignments, parent-teacher-student association announcements and other school related news will be posted on the web page in the coming months, school officials say.
The middle school’s web site “is comparable to any professional web site,” said Gary Kingsbury, executive director of the Orange County Science & Technology Alliance, which supports technology in public schools.
The web site is at https://www.chapman.edu/ac/SLAKE/index.html.
