CINCINNATI — Umpire John McSherry died of severe heart disease, including an irregular heartbeat, the Hamilton County coroner’s office ruled Tuesday.
An autopsy found that McSherry, 51, had an enlarged heart and a severely blocked right coronary artery.
“Mr. McSherry appears to have suffered from a degree of congestive heart failure as well,” Dr. Carl L. Parrott Jr. said.
A wake will be held at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y., today and Thursday. The funeral Mass will be Friday at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church in the Bronx.
