SEASON AT A GLANCE: Shelburne, an All-City Section selection the past two seasons, has played shortstop, catcher and center field in the past two weeks for the Conquistadores. “She’s the heart and soul of the team,” Coach Neils Ludlow said. “She can play anywhere.” Shelburne leads El Camino Real with a .432 batting average and 13 runs batted in.

WEEK AT A GLANCE: In two games last week, Shelburne had seven hits in eight at-bats. In a 23-0 rout over Cleveland, Shelburne was four for five, including her first home run, with seven runs batted in. She had three hits and scored two runs in a 5-1 victory over Granada Hills, helping avenge a loss to the Highlanders in last year’s City Section 4-A semifinals.
