Nationwide Health REIT Posts Gain

NEWPORT BEACH — Nationwide Health Properties Inc. posted a second-quarter gain of 7% in net income as revenue climbed 17%.
The real estate investment trust, which invests in health-care facilities, said net income rose to $13 million, or 33 cents a share, for the second quarter, from $12.2 million, or 33 cents a share, for the 1995 first quarter. Revenue gained 17% to $23.3 million from $20 million.
For the first half, net income rose 8% to $25.6 million, or 66 cents a share, from $23.7 million, or 64 cents a share, a year ago. Revenue was up 19% to $46.2 million from $38.8 million.
