Nation IN BRIEF : COLORADO : Clinton Opens Key Fund-Raising Trip
- Share via
President Clinton arrived in Denver to begin his largest fund-raising excursion of the year. He is expected to collect up to $5 million for the Democrats. Denver was the first stop on a three-day swing. It will be followed by visits to Los Angeles, Sacramento and San Francisco on his 25th journey to California as president. Clinton’s theme in Colorado will be how Americans should accept more responsibility for themselves and about tougher measures against “deadbeat dads” who are behind in child-support payments, said campaign spokesman Joe Lockhart. In California, Clinton will be focusing on crime and juvenile violence.
