Rebels Reportedly Use Hoes to Kill 24

Ugandan Christian rebels beat 24 people to death with hoes during a raid on a northern village, the state-owned New Vision newspaper reported. The paper said the commander of the Lord’s Resistance Army, Joseph Kony, and his group carried out the killings during a raid on an army unit in the northern village of Kilak in an apparent attempt to recapture a strategic base they lost to troops last month. The rebels say they want to establish rule based on the Bible’s Ten Commandments.
