Wiz Stopped Short in Run for First Place

Chris Henderson and Jean Harbor scored goals and Shaun Bartlett added a goal and an assist as the Colorado Rapids defeated the Kansas City Wiz, 4-2, on Wednesday before 8,013 at Denver.

Henderson took a pass from Bartlett in the 14th minute and put a shot past Wiz goalkeeper Garth Lagerwey to open the scoring. Harbor made it 2-0 in the 51st minute.

Marcelo Balboa added a goal in the 90th minute for the Rapids (10-15). Kansas City (13-12) missed a chance to take over first place in the West from the Galaxy.
