Village Christian 22, Santa Paula 6--Aaron Funk ran for 63 yards and two touchdowns in 22 carries to lead the Crusaders at Kennedy High.
Funk ran one yard for a touchdown in the first quarter to erase a 6-0 deficit. Funk added a one-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to give Village Christian a 20-6 lead.
Jeff Johnston threw a 25-yard touchdown pass to Brian Agnor in the first quarter for Village Christian.
Santa Paula quarterback Willie Zavala completed a 63-yard touchdown pass to Freddy Sanchez on the game’s first play from scrimmage.
