New Injury for Boucher
Defenseman Philippe Boucher will probably miss the start of the season--and it has nothing to do with his wrist. Boucher’s often troublesome wrist is fine, but he sprained his right shoulder Thursday in Phoenix and will be out about 10 days. To replace Boucher, the Kings recalled Sean O’Donnell from Phoenix of the IHL.
Defenseman Steven Finn has a bruised rib and probably will not start the season, and left wing Vladimir Tsyplakov has a pulled stomach muscle. Also injured are forwards Dimitri Khristich (ankle bruise) and Craig Johnson (sore hip).
Coach Larry Robinson said he expects to keep two enforcers on the roster--forwards Matt Johnson and Barry Potomski.
