Canyon 21, Ridgecrest Burroughs 14--Monte McKeon rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown in 16 carries for the Cowboys (2-1). Canyon’s Jeff McKinley rushed 15 times for 64 yards and caught a 53-yard scoring pass from Rick Thomas.
Thomas completed seven of 18 passes for 150 yards and a touchdown with an interception.
After Burrough’s pulled to within four points, Alex Cooper returned the ensuing kickoff 50 yards, setting up Giordano’s 24-yard field goal with 5:14 left.
