Five bands Saturday will treat east county music fans to an afternoon of pop, alternative and metal in the park.
The third annual East County Music Festival is scheduled to begin at noon in Arroyo Vista Community Park in Moorpark. Sponsored by Moorpark’s Community Services Department, the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District and the Conejo Valley YMCA, the festival will include food, booths giving information on local recreation programs and about five hours’ worth of music.
Moorpark Recreation Supervisor Dale Sumersille said the bands--all of them local--cover a wide swath of musical turf.
“Pop, rock and roll, alternative--we’ve got pretty much everything,” she said.
The event is free, except for the food. The bands will perform on the lawn near the park’s recreation center. For information, call 531-9100.
