Two Food Processors Agree to Link Up: Tri Valley Growers, a California cooperative, and Del Monte Group Ltd. signed a letter of intent to join forces to package and sell products for international markets. The partnership would link Del Monte’s fruit and vegetable sources abroad with Tri Valley Growers’ fruit and vegetable operations in California. Tri Valley Growers, with 530 members, produces more than half the canned fruits, 23% of the canned olives and 10% of canned tomato products sold in the United States. It sells under the S&W; label. Del Monte Group is the holding company for offshore activities of Del Monte Royal Foods Ltd. of South Africa.
