Laguna Hills 42, Spring Valley Monte Vista 7--Running back Michael Jones gained 232 yards in 35 carries and scored three touchdowns to lead the Hawks (4-0) at Monte Vista High School. Jones, Orange County’s leading rusher, has 966 yards and 11 touchdowns in four games.
La Verne Damien 34, El Dorado 14--Steve Warfield rushed for 70 yards in 19 carries and scored two touchdowns for El Dorado during their 34-14 loss to La Verne Damien in a nonleague game at Damien High.
El Dorado quarterback Mitch Nord completed just six of 38 passes and threw five interceptions, one of which was returned 55 yards for a Damien touchdown.
