Westlake 34, Simi Valley 11--Top-ranked Westlake (4-0) led only 6-3 at halftime.
Jonathan Weems, who rushed for 154 yards in 15 carries, opened the second-half scoring with a 37-yard touchdown. Westlake quarterback Casey Preston’s two-yard run on the Warriors’ next possession capped a 70-yard drive and stretched Westlake’s lead to 21-3. Preston completed 12 of 22 for 166 yards with one touchdown.
Simi Valley (2-2) moved the ball effectively but could not find the end zone until Chad Basalone returned a kickoff 84 yards for a touchdown with eight minutes to play.
