Rio Mesa 50, Hueneme 6--Carl Richardson rushed for four touchdowns and caught a 31-yard touchdown pass to help the Spartans in a Channel League opener at Rio Mesa.
Rio Mesa (4-0) forced three fumbles, had four sacks and registered a safety. The Spartans also held Hueneme (0-4) to 103 yards. Rio Mesa had 140 penalty yards.
Sammy Ayala had a three-yard touchdown run in the second quarter for the Vikings’ lone score. Ayala rushed for 31 yards in 12 carries.
