UCI Women Get First Volleyball Sweep of Year

The UC Irvine women’s volleyball team celebrated its second consecutive victory and first sweep of the season after defeating Bucknell, 15-5, 15-7, 15-9, Tuesday at UC Irvine.
Freshman middle blocker Jamie Hill led the Anteaters (3-16) with 10 kills and five blocks, and junior Cynthia Trotter had nine kills.
Nonconference women’s soccer:
Cal State Fullerton 3, San Diego 1--Dolores Browning scored twice for the Titans (10-3). Vanessa Thomas ended Fullerton’s scoring at the 68-minute mark.
In Golden State Athletic Conference men’s soccer:
Fresno Pacific 3, Concordia 1--Adam Clark scored the only goal for Concordia (3-9-2, 0-5) in the first half. Fresno Pacific is 6-6-2, 3-1-1.
In men’s golf:
UCI’s Lawrence wins--UC Irvine’s Mike Lawrence shot a five-under-par 211 to win the Chase Chevrolet College Invitational Tuesday in Copperopolis, Calif.
Lawrence, who had a five-under 67 in the second round, shot 72 in the final round.
