SEASON AT A GLANCE: After averaging 14 points and 10 rebounds as a junior, the 6-foot-5 Holt entered the season as one of the Cavaliers’ top players. He is averaging 21.2 pointsand has had 11 or more rebounds in five games.
WEEK AT A GLANCE: Holt was selected most valuable player of the 16-team Bell-Jeff tournament after averaging 22.8 points and 10 rebounds to help the Cavaliers (8-2) to the title. Before the tournament, he had 27 points and 13 rebounds in a victory over Los Angeles. “After finishing fifth in the Beverly Hills tournament, we made a promise to ourselves that we were going to win this one,” Holt said. “We didn’t tell [Coach Andre Chevalier] that we were going to do it, but we wanted to win it for him.”
