Clipper update--They opened a three-game, four-day trip with a 17-point loss to the woeful Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night and have dropped three of their last four games. Rookie center Lorenzen Wright, who had made five of 14 shots (35.7%) in his last three games, was one of the few Clippers who played well against the 76ers, making four of six shots, and getting 11 points and nine rebounds in 38 minutes.
Hornet update--The Hornets have averaged 113.3 points and shot 52.5% in winning five of their last seven games and have made a franchise-record 14 three-point shots three times. Glen Rice, the most valuable player of the All-Star game, has averaged 31.3 points in his last 25 games. Anthony Mason has recorded double-doubles in 16 of his last 20 games, averaging 18.8 points, 12.6 rebounds and 6.2 assists.
