An Encino businessman was found shot to death in his car after visiting a friend in the normally sedate community of Manhattan Beach, authorities said Wednesday.
William Levine, 61, was found shot in his late-model Cadillac about 10:24 p.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of Poinsettia Avenue. He had been shot in the upper body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The motive for the shooting was unknown, said Sgt. Mike Parker of the Sheriff’s Department, which was assisting the Manhattan Beach Police Department in the homicide investigation.
The slaying was only the sixth in more than a decade in Manhattan Beach.
