Body Found Floating in Irvine Lake

A decomposing body of a man was discovered floating on Irvine Lake on Wednesday by a sheriff’s helicopter crew patrolling the area, authorities said.
The body has not been identified but is believed to be that of a 25-year-old man who fell out of his boat while fishing there about two weeks ago, Sheriff’s Lt. Ron Wilkerson said.
“That’s the assumption at this point,” Wilkerson said. “But we do not have a positive identification.”
The coroner’s office will try to identify the body through dental records, which could take several days, investigators said.
On March 19, a man fishing with two friends in an 18-foot powerboat fell into the lake and was presumed drowned. The sheriff’s dive team couldn’t find the body.
