County Construction Hits the Top 10

U.S. Housing Markets, a Michigan-based housing newsletter, ranked Orange County as one of its 10 big winners for residential construction in 1996. The county ranked 10th, along with the Sarasota-Bradenton area in Florida, for its increase in residential building permits. In 1996, 6,193 permits were pulled for construction, a 24% gain from the previous year.
