LOOKING AHEAD: UPCOMING PREP EVENTS IN ORANGE COUNTY : BASEBALL

Three of the nine county teams still playing in the Southern Section baseball playoffs host quarterfinal games Friday. Esperanza (22-5) is home to Temecula Valley (18-9), Canyon (22-6) plays Palm Desert (18-9) in Anaheim Hills and La Quinta (25-4) hosts San Dimas (19-6).

On the road are Mater Dei (24-3), against Long Beach Millikan (21-6) at Blair Field; Laguna Hills (16-10-1) plays at Lakewood Artesia (21-5); Magnolia (22-2-1) plays at San Marino (19-4); Calvary Chapel (16-10) plays at Temecula Linfield (16-6); Brethren Christian (20-7) plays at Mammoth Lakes Mammoth (23-5), and Southern California Christian (8-9) plays at Avalon (12-6).
