School Appeals for Aid in Search for New Site

University-Palisades Community Adult School officials announced Tuesday that they will be forced to cancel English as a second language classes for about 200 students this fall if they do not find new classrooms soon.
The land that University-Palisades previously rented at Olympic and Sawtelle boulevards has been sold, and the 60-year-old school is appealing to Westside landowners to lease space for the Monday through Thursday morning classes, said Principal Pat Colby.
“Because we are a community school serving local residents, our new site would ideally be contained within the boundaries of Santa Monica, Olympic, Bundy and Sawtelle,” Colby said.
“However, due to the gravity of our situation, other nearby locations will also be considered.”
