Ernestine Avery; Patron of the Arts and Pasadena Library

Ernestine Avery, 83, a patron of the arts and a strong supporter of the Pasadena Public Library. She was the wife of R. Stanton Avery, founder and chairman emeritus of the Avery Dennison Corp. in Pasadena. During their 32-year marriage, the couple appeared at black-tie balls and fund-raisers throughout the city. They were especially ardent backers of the Huntington Library, the Music Center and Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles. Both a day lily and the children’s wing of the Pasadena Central Library are named for Ernestine Avery. On Sunday in Pasadena.
