Nurturing the Growing O.C. Art Scene
The Marie Elias Center for the Arts would like to extend our warmest appreciation to Zan Dubin for her wonderful and concise article on performance artist John White and our center. Not only was the article interesting reading, but it also was educational and brought additional people to MECA. As a young, struggling art space, we are grateful for coverage.
We would also like to thank Benjamin Epstein for his coverage on the upcoming panel, “The Artist in the Community, the Community in the Artist,” at the Ruben Martinez Bookstore & Gallery. We appreciate the professional clarity and inclusiveness with which The Times’ writers cover the O.C. art beat. To nurture a growing art scene, the media have to be paying attention. In this regard, your paper is doing an outstanding service to the community.
