Club Disney to Add Site in West Covina

Four months after the debut of its successful Club Disney in Thousand Oaks, Walt Disney Co. announced it will expand the indoor play-park attraction with a second location in West Covina.

“The response we have received from families [at the Thousand Oaks location] is terrific,” said Jay Rasulo, senior vice president and general manager of Club Disney.

Club Disney charges an $8 admission price and gives parents and children playtime together in such activities as painting, climbing, dressing up and going through a maze.

The West Covina site will offer a similar mix of activities, including play areas such as Mickey’s Circus, Pooh and You, the Maddening Maze and the Curiosity Castle, along with areas for birthday parties, surfing the Internet and dressing up in costumes.

The West Covina site, to be located at the Eastland Shopping Center just north of the 10 Freeway, is expected to open by the end of the year.

Club Disney is the second retail chain for the entertainment conglomerate. The Disney Store chain began in 1987 in Glendale and now has 601 locations.
