No, that wasn’t a publicity stunt for Harrison Ford’s new action flick “Air Force One” cruising the skies above Point Mugu on Monday afternoon. It was the real thing. Sort of.
Air Force Two, the president’s backup aircraft, landed ahead of schedule at 4 p.m. at Point Mugu Naval Air Weapons Station, officials said. The president was speaking on children’s health at Mar Vista Elementary School in West Los Angeles on Monday.
The VC25A jet flies wherever the president goes, in case Air Force One is somehow grounded, said Cora Fields, a spokeswoman for Point Mugu.
“It looks like the real thing, with the presidential seal and everything, but it’s the backup aircraft,” Fields said.
Air Force Two was scheduled to leave at 11 p.m. “Air Force One” the film is coming soon to a theater near you.
