Crayons, charcoal and pastels are lying in wait at the Carnegie Art Museum.
The museum is hosting a summer course for fourth- and fifth-graders interested in art. Children in those grades who live in downtown Oxnard can take part in the “Neighbor Kids” bprogram, which will run on Fridays from 3 to 5 p.m., beginning Friday and ending July 25.
Children will explore drawing, painting and other forms of artistic expression. The themes of the course are self-esteem and family.
