Los Angeles Lakers star Shaquille O’Neal hasn’t made the starting lineup of Taco Bell’s much-awaited new advertising campaign. O’Neal isn’t slated to appear in any of the half-dozen or so commercials being prepared for Taco Bell by its new advertising agency, TBWA Chiat/Day. The spots are expected to hit later this summer. A Taco Bell spokeswoman said the fast-food company is pleased with previous commercials with O’Neal and is likely to use him again at some point. O’Neal recently appeared in spots from Taco Bell’s former agency, Bozell Worldwide. TBWA Chiat/Day said it has been moving away from celebrity endorsers. Another client, Nissan North America, left its longtime spokesman, actor Jonathan Price, out of its latest batch of Infiniti ads.
