Flinn’s Ex-Classmate Avoids Court-Martial

A female lieutenant who had an affair with a married officer who fathered her child won’t face a court-martial, the Air Force said. Most of the charges against 1st Lt. Crista Davis, 28, of DeKalb, Ill., were dropped last month. The remaining charges included making a false statement and conduct unbecoming an officer for sending sexually explicit letters to the wife of the Air Force major. The decision against court-martialing Davis was made by Lt. Gen. Phillip J. Ford, commander of the 8th Air Force. He also presided in the case of Lt. Kelly Flinn, the B-52 pilot who took a general discharge rather than be court-martialed for adultery, lying and disobeying an order. The two women were Air Force Academy classmates. Davis, a special projects officer based at Barksdale in Bossier City, was not charged with adultery.
